Attractions

Sanfang Qixiang, or Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, is located at the center of Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It is a well-preserved architectural complex of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, covering a total area of 40 hectares with 268 ancient houses. As a famous ancient block, it is an important symbol to show the long history of Fuzhou city. Three Lanes and Seven Alleys is a platform for showing the history and culture of Fuzhou City, commemorating Fuzhou’s ancient celebrities, and also displaying traditional business as well as folk art. It enjoys a reputation of “the Museum of the buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasty”. There are some former residences of famous people, such as Lin Zexu, Bing Xin, etc. These houses have various-shaped ponds, pavilions as well as bridges. There are huts, halls, public lodgings as well as recreation areas outside the houses, which have unique walls decorated with intricate colorful paintings. (~ 1.3 km away from the Minjiang Hotel)


Fuzhou West Lake Park, is the most well-preserved and intact classical garden in Fuzhou, with a long history of up to 1700 years. It covers an area of 42.51 hectares; among which, the water area is 30.3 hectares, which is also regarded to be "a bright pearl of Fuzhou gardens". As it is free to the public, many local people, especially the old, go for a walk or do exercise in the park in the morning or evening. West Lake is quiet and gorgeous with its beautiful natural sceneries; hence, it attracts lots of men of letters and painters in ancient times to leave their plentiful praising sentences as well as paintings. Drum Hill, or Gushan Mountain, is the most famous and significant scenic area 8 km away from downtown Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China. It is believed to be one of "The Two Matchless Scenic Beauties” in Fujian Province. Also, it has been a Buddhist holy land in Fuzhou for a long time. Drum Hill Scenic Area is quite large. But as Buddhist holy land, Yongquan Temple halfway up the hill is a must-visit site for tourists. Walk along the stone steps on the hill, it only takes about 1 hour to reach the temple. What’s more, there are many other attractions and things on the hill for you to explore. More than 20 spots are in the east part of the hill, dozens of views are in the west, about 50 are in the south, and 45 are in the north. Tourists can hike up the mountain, and absorb the stunning landscapes as well as the pristine natural sceneries surrounding the 1800-meter-long trail. (~ 12 km away from the Minjiang Hotel)
